What can we look forward to in regards to combat?

    Will combat remain the same, or be completely overhauled? What is up ahead in combat? Will we see boarding, crews, hacking? Or something different?

    Every interview with schema has brought up those questions. On foot combat will get some much needed loving soon. Expect stuff like that and some things you might not have thought of making its way in eventually. It might not be as robust as a MOBA or FPS arena but it'll fit the game and mods might make it better.

    Well Mario just jumped on their heads while tripping on shrooms and that was still fun, so I'm sure they'll come up with something good.

    Once you look into it the level design used to make the Mario games fun it was actually incredibly complicated.

    Tightly controlled, yes. Complicated? To an extent. A shade 'accidentally on purpose'.
    Gumpey Yokoi was a master of tight control. He had to make it work on a hardware level. Just pick up any game and watch device. That sort of thinking influenced Shigeru Miyamoto when he began making software to run on Yokoi's NES hardware. It's the corner stone of what old school console gamers call 'Nintendo hard'. Essential to that design was the ability for the player to master the situation using lessons already learned.
