That's more than a little bit terrifying. You could just escape from any attacker before they had a chance to get you :P

Make a long thin horizontal ship made out of anything. Build or move it next to a stationary object like a planet, then hold down Z.

I've easily hit speeds exceeding 25,000 that way, even with the speed cap.

By the time it even has a chance to render, you are 40km out of the sector, on my way back to the start I clipped right through the center of a station, and only saw it start to render after I was past it.

I managed to get up to 48,258.5 km/h on a 63 mass ship with 21,200 thrust.
Nothing even gets a chance to spawn in before I am out of the sector!

Adding more blocks would just decrease the thrust-mass ratio, Plus I don't know how much of a factor the 20,000 power storage default was. Would be interesting to test.

Requiring power tanks on docked reactors + drain beams would multiply mass of power supply by about 3.

I think you would need about 20-40 times as much thrusters to get about equal thrust/mass with docked reactors, but I don't know how much drain beams actually drain compared to what reactors produce.
