When I try to uplink my Starmade account in-game, an error prompt pops up.

IOException: Server returned HTTP response code: 401 for URL:http://registry.star-made.org/token

I have no idea what it means, however, it is stopping me from joining servers.

I have the same issue. Can't join any server that need an uplink to starmade.org

Edit : Its seems i had no password at all for my account :/ So i send a request for a new passord to be emailed to me; Still waiting but i guess thats why the uplink is not working for me.

Please try those steps in the order mentioned:

    1. Create a new empty folder, located in a safe position, not protected by Windows in any way. (C:\Starmade\ NOT desktop or userfiles)
    redownload the launcher:
    http://star-made.org/download

    Try uplink.

    2. In case you use a windows computer go to "%appdata%" and remove the whole ".starmade"-directory shown (while no instance is running)

    Try uplink again

    - Andy

(make sure you put in your registry username in "uplink" popup window, and correct pass. The username shown in connect to server dialog is not needed to be the same as your account name.)

Seems like it is the same here. The uplinking issue persists and it is becoming frustrating.

0.142b works fine. 0.143 is bugged password wise. ie: if you don't have a password on this forum you don't have one either on the game (uplink) hence you cannot log in.
As i said earlier check if you have a password here.

That actually has nothing to do with it, you are not suppose to have a password on here as authentication is handled by the Citizens Registry. That option to receive a new password was not suppose to be there, and has been removed.

I followed your link. Thing is i'm already logged in. I have a password it seems but when i type in my "usual" password (the one i had on the old forum) to change and get a new one, my old password is not recognised.

Logout and then put your email in the link I sent you, you should receive an email to reset your password.

Alright guys, I found the cause of issue (At least for me)

The name we are using is also our ID - Fact

This new patch sneaked in case sensitivities, so for me, my ID was "Mortiferum", not "mortiferum" (Which worked LAST patch)

my problem is not wrong a password, it is not case sensitivity issue, it is flatly refusing to uplink what so ever. why does eveyone keep saying otherwise it is not my end that is broken your working on the wrong end.

From what I can tell (and I tested) The USERNAME is not case sensitive :u meaning when you go to uplink, you have to type in " lordWolfe " with that exact casing.
Seems like something went funky with the Database Transfer to the new site :/ would have to Poke DukeofRealms or Resba about that methinks

Okay just to ensure it once for all:

    username.png

In case your uplink does not work, with some 'oauth' or 'token' message, you typed it wrong.
To make sure it IS correct, request a new password via the registry.

Any error regarding "socket exception no function create/connect' or anything similar, your java seems to prefer ipv6 stack.

    add java option:
    -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true

Any other things or still not working:
Post a screenshot showing the errormessage and at least the input fields, as stating:
'does not work' is still nothing to work with.
