Make ships how up on the map like fleet ships by default

    Hello,
I feel like ships are too easily hidden in StarMade and that its too hard to find other players. I think that ships by default should pop up on the map like fleeted ships. Maybe have the icon tinted red if a ship is manned to distinguish it from a derelict ship just floating in space (and the also a filter for manned ships to easily spot people).

If you want to hide, my idea is that radar jammed ships are hidden from the map.

Only if the system is owned by your faction, or you're actively using the long range scanner. Otherwise nope.

It's just a help to grief easier players that did nothing to you. (Some avoid having a home base just to avoid detection.) I really think this is not needed ever.

I think this is a good idea. It's very easy to implement and helps alot.

New players will love it. Veterens will have another reason to use stealth chambers. And even for an experienced player it's annoying to manually go through the list of ships around me to spot that one actual threat ship.

In fact it's a good measure against exploiting game mechanics by flodding the entity list with small drones.

On the other hand I never had a scenario where I wasn't able to find the one manned craft between the 20 other entities around me. So this addition will not make a big difference for most of the players.

Intention with this is both so that you are not untracable like now. Its waaay too easy to hide. And also so that people can actually find eachother on servers. The only way to visit people and interact is by visiting someones homebase (whether it be in a hostile or social fashion). Half of the time people arent there. Servers feel like ghost towns.

Servers will be even emptier when richer players hunt new players just for fun when they are bored. Factions that do have a HB show it on faction description. People who trust you and want to be found by you will tell you their coords in a private chat.

Privacy is one of the human rights. I do not see why in this game this right should be suspended or how will that make the game better.

I think this would be fine if dectectable range is tied to active reactor size or something so small new-player ships are no more detectable than they are now. Should be the same for fleets really. Map could show you their last known heading but shouldn't update course changes you couldn't detect.

It's been a while since the 'getting beaten in a MP sandbox game is griefing,' opinion's been around.

Make it related to sensor arrays. Put a bit of use into them.

And that was because of this reason I said it should be tied to sensors / system owner... Because the line between fair (and needed) tracking ability and easy grief is thin.
And please stop this "SnOwflAKe" bs, not every incentive to nerf easy grief is to play like in farming simulator. Because balance (being able to see EVERY player in real time regardless of the distance or tech difference is not).
