The ability to place two wedges in one block for aesthetic purposes

Is this a good idea or just a waste of time?

While building a ship you might come across a part of your ship where you want two colors in one diagonal piece. But two wedges facing each other in the same block doesn't work since the yellow "block-placing-hitbox" is in the way.

The only way two wedges in the same block is possible is with a docked entity.

So, as stated in the title, if it was possible to put two wedges in one block, many aesthetic stuffs would be possible ontop of what we already have.

It's nice to sometimes have two diagonal lines in contact, but it's kind of a "luxury".

Using docked entities to slide them togehter will have to remain the way to do it, because altering the game's code to have the ability for two blocks to reside in one voxel position on the same entity would surely be a very problematic process.

Can imagine how buggy would our favourite game become taking into consideration the already-existing level of bugs, glitches, memory leaks etc and the fact you're going to tell the game there are two independent objects within the same coordinates xD

Jusst use docked entity as Deepspace Mechanic said, that simplifies things a LOT.

Or... You could just add the possibility to do Decals on block faces =) That would be a lot easier

That is a much better idea than mine!
If anyone played Empyrion Galactic Survival, he will know what I meant. It's an really easy and simple concept. Add a Paint Gun of sorts.

Yeah the ability to place 2 wedges in the same block would be kinda cool but it's not really needed since we already have a way to do it, with docked ships.

Yeah decals/stickers has been suggested in the past. Would eliminate the need for different colour blocks.
