    So I was testing a logic gun the other day, cannon+ beam. The logic gun works well but for some reason it wont damage the structure, it only takes away the shield

    It could be that your cannon isn't big enough to actually damage the object.

    This is VERY possible. Because of the new explosive/acid damage model, smaller cannons are next to useless against armor.

    Example;
    20 block beam gun; Punches right through.
    20 block cannon; Sorry... try again.

    Yeah, I was making a corvette sized ship, and it's cannons couldn't even penetrate a basic hull fighter I had. Beams cut right through it. Missiles kind of scorched it a little. But cannons? Nada. Zilch. Zip. Nope nope nope...

    RIP Cannons. Viva la beams...

    Rather than fix the former "explosive effect", they give all cannons innate explosive effect (and all the drawbacks that entails) by default. Now we supposedly have nuclear howitzers... that can't hit the broad side of a barn ...but we also have GAU8 avenger cannons that can't cut through cardboard.

    This makes no sense. Cannons (and all modern projectile weapons, for that matter) can have a wide variety of ammo types so that they can be used against virtually any kind of target (hard, soft, etc.) up to their maximum caliber limitation. They should have left in the ability to customize ammo/damage type.

    Noticed most weapons don't do damage when fired by logic so it is a bug.

    It is also a fact that some weapons are underpowered. That an amount of cannon blocks cannot do what the same amount of beam blocks can do, for example. The logic angle is new, though.

    This...

    I have small fighters equipped with a 16-16 block B/C. When you factor in burst time, damage per tick and cool down, it gets 640 DPS and cuts through basic hull like paper (5 blocks destroyed in one burst). A 16-16 block C/C weapon got much lower damage stats; for both burst and DPS and took 4 shots to break only one hull block.

    Hmm... 4 shots to kill just one block or just one shot to kill more than 4 blocks? Schine always leaves us with the toughest decisions. :rolleyes:
