I again forgot that nobody looks at the Steam forums.
It seems that my copy paste suggestion from my previous thread was implemented. I appreciate this addition.
I have three tools that I'm suggesting be added to the game, especially with the new build menu being a thing.
The first is a smoothing tool. In concept, it essentially takes something like a cube and rounds it into a sphere. The best way to implement it would be to have it perform at the mouse pointer's location in a set size around it. It should also work in reverse, taking a round surface and making it more cubic. Each click should remove/add a few blocks, with X clicks making the area fully rounded/squared, depending on which way you've selected. As an example, if you have a 50x50x50 cube, and set the smooth/square brush size to 5, and used it on the corner, it would only round the corner.
The second tool is essentially an improvement to the quick build tool (Brush Size) already available. It would be wonderful if the quick build could have additional options where instead of building off the face of a cube, the block you're aiming at is the center of the placement. This could just be a Center/Face checkbox. The second part of the improvement would be to add a sphere option and maybe a couple of other shapes.
The final is a raise/lower tool. This tool would add block off a surface in the direction of the face clicked, preferably dictated by a brush shape and size. So if you click on a flat surface on the X+ side with a brush shape and size of cube 5, one block would be added in that direction on each X+ surface available with that cube.
These three tools could really help those of us with different building styles and shouldn't be too difficult to implement. You already have the framework available.
To be honest, I have decided to make this game my creative build home. The tools you have are light years ahead of any other voxel/sandbox game I've found.
I'm working on a megabuild. I'll be happy to post a few screenshots of what I've built in due time once these tools are added. I really want the tools for terrain work, but they could easily be a huge boon for ship and station building as well (I know I certainly would use them for ship building were they available). These tools would cut down terrain construction time massively. I'm currently at 8,622,961 blocks, and am really annoyed manually creating terrain.
[doublepost=1512447996,1512447016][/doublepost]Just as proof that I've been quite busy, here is a snippet of terrain in the 8,622,961 blocks I've placed thus far. As you can see, it's kind of pitiful, and finishing it would likely average 30 minutes just for the area of this screenshot.
