    Greetings citizens,

    We have an update on the power update as well as an exciting announcement for you.


    What are we working on right now?

    One new thing is that in our internal builds, fleets are now saving orders on logout and server start and restart. You can expect fleets to save orders in future dev builds. As previously mentioned, we have been constructing a comprehensive power document to share with the community. It is now being finalized along with a video to give an easily digestible overview of the entire proposal. These will be released simultaneously later this week.


    Be sure to check our last news post for more specifics, since we are still discussing those internally.


    New developer joining the team

    For the past two and a half months we've been getting a new game developer familiarised with the code and how we work. Some of you will already be acquainted with him as an active community member, welcome to nightrune (Sean Sill)!

    Awesome keep up the good work! Can't wait to hear whats in store for power systems. It will be super cool to see fleets save commands and keep going like nothing happened between game restarts. (y)

    Aw man so happy tofind you added to the team ; ) i still recall how you went after strange behaviour in the dronewars. from then on i expected something like this ;)

    Great news all around. AI Fleets were finally implemented for player use*, Schine got another programmer/other stuff person (and it's Nightrune!), and there's finally a timeline on us getting the improved power proposal. \o/



    *Sorry for the snark, but honestly... The whole reason we wanted AI fleets in the first place wasn't just for the hell of it, but rather as a solution, to defend stuff while we're offline. Schema went and implemented everything for fleets but that. And a decent mining AI, and unloaded mining, but I can understand why those weren't added yet.

    Finally, we can have our fleets doing their own thing while offline. :) Also it's always fun to watch a random player turn into a dev. :P

    With only Schema and auburn listed as "developers" on the staff page, and the rest being around-and-about positions like art, testing and managing, does this mean the actually programming portion of Schine just grew by 50%? With the relative size of the rest of the team, this feels intuitively like it would be a bottleneck being opened.
