I'm working on a ship currently that has ended up being larger than the workspace I had available for it and I'm needing to move it out a short distance. Thing is, I'm looking at 4-5k mass of just hull at the moment, and I haven't reached the area of the ship I want the thrusters to actually go in permanently yet. Which means to move it requires some imprecise use of teleportation commands, or stopping to add temporary power and thrusters to move it, and then delete them all again (which is what I ended up doing, lots and lots of temporary thrusters...)

Would be nice to have an admin command that would simply set the thrust of a vessel to a 1:1 ratio so that things being built in open space can be easily moved. Make it similar to the god mode toggle, turn thrust on, move your ship, turn thrust back off.

On a similar note, can decimal checks be added to the current change_sector command, to effectively do precision teleportation? (E.g. /change_sector 2.5, 2.4, 2.7)

Without decimals, the change_sector command would do the same thing it does now. (E.g. /change_sector 2,2,2)

I'd like a better admin-jump command, being able to enter a distance into the current direction rather than the object under your cursor.

That could fix OP's problem too.

so slapping a few power reactors and thrusters on your wip is too hard for you to do?

You didn't actually read the post, did you? Because I stated right at the start that this is exactly what I did.

But we have commands for just about everything else to make doing things easier. Teleports and money grants and everything else. This is just another quick command to make life easier when you're building instead of having to slap several thousand thrusters to the side of a WIP just to move it to where you can keep working on it.

Especially after a damned trading guild ships kamakaze's it.

If you really just want to build then i would flat out disable the universe ai simulation.

If you are on a Build Server then ask the Admin to place your sector under protection.

You can even lock a sector!

I would make your sector likes this:

    /sector_chmod x y z + noenter
    /sector_chmod x y z + noexit

    :ROFLMAO:

Yeah, I just went back to one of my single player creative build games since a bug is keeping me off Cake currently. Didn't think about them being active until I logged in and suddenly my ship was spinning away like a pinwheel of death.
