A silly mistake on the part of the hosting company that took me way too long to work out.

The game was crashing because it was running out of memory.

In the root folder of the game, there is a file named "StarMade-dedicated-server-windows.bat". That file is what the control panel uses to start the game. That file defines the port the game is on, and the amount of allocated RAM. That file also happens to get overwritten every update, but the hosts usually remove that file from the update zip. They forgot to this time, so our memory allocation and port got reset to SM's defaults of 1gb RAM and port 4242.

This caused the server to run out of memory and crash (i.e. when Exozen's ring loaded in) and explains why some people couldn't connect (they were using the continue previous game button) and why some could (going through the server listing, which had the incorrect port).

Lancake noticed in the logs the server was in the wrong port earlier, and I instantly worked out what the fuck had happened, and started to hate myself just that little bit more ^_^

Ahhhhh, that makes total sense. EDIT: I've done the same thing many times!

Hey rimmer, when I try and access the server it says I'm not whitelisted (despite being accepted). Probably just got overlooked in the usual chaos.

Seems like it didnt really go through to the server, probably because of the issues we had, I will fix it later today.

    Application:

    IGN-
    - skywalker1807

Why you want to join the server-
    - Because it's more fun to play together with someone else, other than just myself (Pun wasn't intended to be there).
    - So that if someone wants to help me to build some big ships he can.

    Example of your work-
    Your favorite type of cake-
    - apple pie

    Hey Nova Fleet Dynamics Admins!
    Im S13DG3HAMM3R
Id like to apply to build on your server because I have been working on a particular ship off and on for 3+ years (750 hours and counting) and I would like a hand on some of my interiors

    Here's my most up-to-date screenshot!

I think some parts of my ship could use some different personalities.
Favorite Cake? Well what does it matter? Its all a lie anyways.

I would love to have the opportunity to get my work out there, I hope to see you soon!

Haha thanks, it means a lot! No it isn't a smedit, in fact basically all of the curves were too complicated to even use the build helper boundaries, which means it's all hand crafted. You can come take a closer look and maybe even lend a hand once I make it on later. Thanks for the acceptance. :)

Racegate Racetrack at -46, -16, -42 for anyone that wants to screw around with it. :)

Setup and join races in the Racegate Computer at the all green terminal in the center, next turn on a number of Ready Terminals off to the sides using the activators up top, than each player in the race links a wireless block to their terminal, once all racers are linked start sending signals to the wireless blocks to start the race, once all racers have sent their ready signals the race starts. :) Hint if your ship can't fit through a 15m radius gate it isn't usable on this particular track.
