Just thought this idea was a bit long overdue and figured it'd be rather helpful for a lot of server admins out there that don't like manually updating but can't figure out how to auto update or don't have the time. Same thing if the server goes down when no one is around. Admins of course could turn it off or override it with one of their own so it isn't like it'd totally prevent them from doing what they want on the end of server updates and restarts.

    Any ideas?

Been suggested before, at the very least the auto restart was. Then the same dipshits who think all server hosters who think you should know how to write scripts derailed the thread(s).

Agreed. Not all Starmadians are computer experts but a bunch of us would host a MP server if it were more idiot-proofed. It is only the complexity of maintaining a server that keeps me from attempting a server of my own (without having a tech-guru to help run it).

Before anyone says 'Get Gud'...I already know how to run multi-track recording studio, wire a home for electrical, and tune a servo-motor on a V.C.R. to factory specs. That does not mean I have the time, inclination or aptitude to also be a computer tech.

Needless to say I've got the Flame Shields at max and the Thunder Cannons ready the zap them. :)

Lukwan you hit the nail right on the head, the game is great but making it more user friendly should be in their dev plans, everything is getting more complicated,I work in the automotive field and can rebuild engines, transmissions, dyno tune and rewrite automotive software but some this stuff just escapes me.
