I got some Ideas on my way home and thought I can make a suggeestion right away.

As the title says I want to suggest that we get the ability to change a beacon's color on the fly.

The gameplay mechanic could work just like our rails.
So placing a "normal" light besides an activator/button will have it change the color of any beacon, that has been conected with "v".
(Also, for this to work with effectively, it would be nice to be able to connect severel activators at once to a beacon)

or you could just use an OR gate.
Starmade's logic system can't carry such information through severel logic blocks, as far as I know. (Feel free to correct me, if I'm wrong)
Otherwise, it sure would be a good alternative.

I wouldn't mind different colors of beacon. You might be able to skip the activator even, directly slaving the colored light to the beacon.

I like the suggestion. Hell... would be nice to be able to do that with ALL lights. As for activating like rails... very much yes. It would allow color swapping on the fly depending on what your doing. Could make for some very interesting "Flight Deck" type signaling light systems.

And having only one light and using paints to color the lights would probably freeup some space for other blocks.

I'd just as soon leave the colored lights. They're easy to work with for somebody who (Maybe stubbornly, but to each their own) refuses to work with logic, or just doesn't understand or care about logic, if logic is how you mean to activate these lights. No need to force some sort of mechanic on them.

If you are instead implying that it'd be a good solution if you required people to go around using paint things on every light ever, well, please no.

I didn't mean that you wouldn't have colored lights madman. I meant that if you had placed yellow lights, but wanted them under certain circumstances to change to say green, or red (Traffic light maybe) that you could do it. NOT that you would be required to use logic to get colored lights.

I also think we should have colored beacons. You could still change their color on the fly, but if you wanted em static you could have it.

One note, is that if we can change the color of the lights, when you harvest them they need to be the same color light as when you placed them.
