Planets day / night?

im currently on a server building a nice little house on a planet! but the Sun doesnt seem to move...is there a day / night? does it just take really long to get to night or day?

Depends on the server. One annoying server made planets uninhabitable because they made the day 2 seconds long. Odds are they turned rotation off. Just set a timer for an hour or two and work on something in the house, then check for a difference.

it seems the Sun moves a bit..then moves back...could i be on a part of the planet were its never night?

If you feel like it, make a sundial to use the shadow. It would look awsome and really test it.
