running worse than before

I remember playing this around when it just got released. It ran at 30-60 fps no problems. I would have 1 crash maybe every few hours that didn't bother me. But I come back now all I hear is crackle noises and just horrible fps and nothing has changed in my PC since then. So any one know whats happening?

It could be a number of reasons. Do you have VGO Bulk-mode enabled? That could cause problems in certain set-ups. Shadows are also a resource hog. As for the audio I'm not sure.

Yeah likely the graphics that have been added, what are your specs? Are you using an Intel graphics set?

true.. I even disabled all the fancy graphics and stuff, but it still runs worse than before.. and that's in space..
I can't even go near a planet without experiencing some major performance issues

My PC deos that sound when I open a game that is BIG.Since there is more stuff,mor Graphics options and mor stuff,it takes more memory.If you have a lot of programs ope nis gona do that 100% of the times.

Letting us know what hardware you're trying to run Starmade on will help us a ton. We can try to solve issues and ensure that they don't pop up again. The new graphics are indeed a big upgrade to the game, but like most upgrades, they come with slightly increased loads on your comp's hardware which can cause some issues to people with lower end hardware or expose new compatibility issues that didn't hit the spotlight before.
The important thing is getting information to fix the issues so everyone can enjoy the new updates.
