Depending on the ship I'm building, I sometimes like to have the core (and the bridge built around the core) at the front of the ship, sometimes in the back of the ship, sometimes on top somewhat exposed like a Star Trek bridge, sometimes buried in the ship itself.

Aka, I'm very inconsistent with where I put my cores.

So far for shipyards, this means I build a VERY large shipyard, so big that I can build any decent sized ship with the core anywhere I want with room to spare, or for really big ships I physically move the core around in the shipyard to get it where I want it to be.

Shower moment (literally), it would be so very useful if I could dock the anchor to a rail, and then actually move where it is in the shipyard using the rails. Front, middle, back, simply make a rail system that I can select a location on, have it move the anchor there, and start building.

Unless/until we get the ability to remotely access the core (so I can just bury the core in the middle and never think of it again), would it be possible to determine if the anchor is inside of the shipyard modules and link it wirelessly across docked objects so that we can have re-configurable shipyards?

They plan to kill the anchor and just have ships autocenter inside the shipyard.
