I play a lot on single player and I've made custom ships for the pirates and traders to use. No matter what I do the pirates will spawn with a mix of their own designs and trader ships and vice versa. It really breaks the immersion and I was wondering how hard of a change this could be anyways. thanks ^-^

If you read the dev blogs you would find that we will get cool ships for pirates (scavs),trade guild and outcasts (the new major faction).
They will all have their unique awesome ships, ranging from fighters to frigates to large freighters.
    Also not only that :D
They will introduce proceduraly generated "minor" factions that will also have unique ships,so the future is bright for you :D

Personally I think it would be even better if all the AI factions could have their blueprints for randomly generated ships customized like they were trying to do with the pirates. That way you could import player made ships that you want for each of those factions. Also would be nice if server config controlled how many AI factions there are.

    yes..that will be possible.
Just like we can do that with stations where you can just put blueprints of your stations in specific faction folders, you will be able to do that for ships.
I thought this is common knowledge

Maybe it should be, but note I am new to the forums. I am just really enjoy the game and am getting involved because I have ideas to contribute if they have not already been expressed, so I am trying to catch up on reading.

If you read my post, that's not what I asked for. I understand what you are saying and I appreciate it, however I think you missed the point of my post. I'm asking how hard it can be for schema to split faction BP pools in the meantime. After all, wouldn't it be easier to implement it now so that it isn't broken whenever the new mobs are released?

Hmmm, did you, perhaps, forget to un-tick the "enemy useable" checkbox for all those "trade guild" designs you are using?
I know how easy it is to forget to that. (not joking here, got blown up by my own dreadnoughts thrice.

More importantly, yeah, I get what you're saying.
We need a separate checkbox for "Trade Guild Useable". (although, don't they fall under the "others" category? I certainly haven't seen them use anything but Isanths)

If it's eally not much of an effort, it might be nice to have in the meantime. Though it's ulitmately up to the devs to decide whether it's worth to add as temporary solution or rahter wait till real ai factions get added.

There's going to be an official Outcast faction? My own fictional star empire is going to sound like a rip off!
Hope they don't find my base and sue me for thousends of credits .

Maybe there need to be faction designs and ally-usable (TG = ally)

This is definitely planned. The stations already have split folders for each faction, and different assets are being worked on for NPC factions. In order to use them different folders will have to be added.

There could be a number of reasons why this functionality hasn't been added yet. I would wager proper fleets will make it in first, then the NPC ships overhaul will come packaged in with an equivalent of separate ship folders. It doesn't really make much sense to add a feature that you're already planning on replacing shortly down the line, though I am saying this without much knowledge of how much work separate folders would be.

I'm hoping, that with the greater emphasis on more factions and fauna, that the permission tab becomes much more complex. It is already too simple for what players want to do. I imagine a menu-tree structure would add sufficient granularity. I hope there will be a search function also, because I'd like to see the permissions tree go all the way down to an individual member of a faction, with creatures being members of a pack, flock or similar group that is functionally a faction.

This means you would be able to do silly things like allow a single space-lion in the sirius 243 pride (procedural faction # 423845) on a planet in 20433, 83475, 39635 to have permission to spawn your latest titan. However, such a granular permission system would be useful for sharing something with actual players.

Don't forget how often he is allowed to spawn :D

Also you might have multiple owners which can only remove themselves and their own subordinates.

Else the owner leaves the server and you get: (Just for blueprints)
