I suggest allowing multiple Storage blocks to connect to the same cargo blocks.

Not sure if anyone has suggested this, but with cargo providing the bulk of the actual storage volume it seems like Storage blocks should have more sophisticated inventory management abilities. Perhaps renamed to Cargo Computer or Storage Computer.

Here's how I would envision this feature working. You could in some way group a set of cargo blocks with a storage block as normal, and that storage block would manage any auto pulling for that set of cargo blocks. You could then set another storage block as master storage for either all those cargo blocks, or possibly their storage modules. This block could be opened to access the content of all of those cargo modules from a single inventory, perhaps either unable to accept new items, only able to accept items that add to an existing stack, or simply distributing them to a particular cargo container based on which one is currently least full.

What this would do: it would allow for more complex cargo management for use with both the personal cargo system and automated factory lines. You would be able to, for example, leave most of your hulls in a central storage but pull up to a specific volume (based on the number of cargo blocks used) from it to another storage where factories would be unable to pull it. The upside of this for automated production is the ability to keep exact or near exact proportions of materials available at all times with production kicking back in as materials are used up. The other major use is allowing a player to automatically sort their materials into separate storage, but to still access varied material sets via personal cargo pulling the blocks directly from those various sorted stashes.

Yes this has been suggested before. I'll try to find the thread if someone else doesn't first.
