Mandatory Structure

    How about a requirement that every block either be connected to a structural block (hull, armor, etc) or one like itself, that way if your massive gun array's mounting hardpoint gets blasted off, the whole big chunk goes floating off into space like debris?

    go to your starmade folder. open "server.cfg" with notepad,change ENABLE_BREAK_OFF = false to true

    but be warned,its still kinda intense for computers to process all that information

    Would it be OK to use vi instead?

    Breakoff currently causes insta-crashes, as far as I know. Don't turn it on. :P

    Hell no. People use system blocks as part of the design of the ship's interior (thrusters make for a nice floor and wall pattern). This also would totally break efficient reactor designs, as well as any attempt to make a cloaked ship.
