Pretty much a different kind of laser, what this laser does is stun the ships movement, in other words make the ship unable to flee, or go in hyperspace, cannons however still work on the ship so do docked ships.
every ship has a ''stun bar'' aka, the amount of shots it takes to stun a ship, the bigger the ship the more shots you need to stun a ship, shields have no effect on the stun laser, in other words, the shields dont go down when stunned, the laser is also somewhat thicker than a normal laser and is green coloured. The stun laser is perfect for boarding ships and killing anyone on board, but also to stop people from running, or to capture them (maybe a stun hand pistol would be cool too for capturing purposes)
ofcourse there is a way to stop the ability to get stunned, which is the anti-stun block, this block however takes allot of power, so it is only usable in huge ships, think stardestroyer size.
