I'm just sad that there isn't a quarter slab that can be placed in the middle of a grid instead of just at the end of the grid.. That would be amazing for doors and walls.

Best use of slabs aside from the obvious things like tables that I've found, beds.

Use colored standard armor 3/4 slabs as the bed, and then a full height white at the head. Instant bed with pillow!

Or just use the thinnest slab with one being white for the pillow. Works equally as well, especially for bunk beds. Just gotta make sure you have something to attach them to like thin slabs at the front and back or a wall or something.

i can finally Armour the gun barrels.. but without wedges they kind of look weird.

Wedge, tetra, and penta slabs would allow for such smooth curves, here's hoping all three and not just wedges get mini versions.

Oh yeah, once we get the slab wedges we can really start to draw on the hulls!

I wonder, will they ever make slabs have their own build hitboxes. For example, the ability to place 4 quarter slabs ontop of each other and only take up a single block's space.

If they ever allowed for that it'd open up a lot of room for more detailed things like doors and the like.

Yeah, probably not.

They already said that the only real reason we got slabs is because the cargo system is going to use progressive slab thicknesses to show the cargo area filling up.

Oh well, they still open up a LOT of cool stuff (I've got a thread over in Shipyards showing off my station WIP where I'm using slabs everywhere), so bring on even more slabs!

I say think of these as slabs v1.0 . Yes they came about because of cargo, but because of the reaction to them, which may be greater than cargo itself, they may look into improving slabs for even more artistic freedom.

I'm actually hoping we get some other miniature or partial blocks like antipersonnel weapons.

Definitely going to be using these all over the place. I've been satisfied with wedge bunkbeds for too long!
