    This changes everything!

No really, making plating for rail system internals will look so much nicer now. Much on my end will have to be changed for this.

I saw these from someones screenshots of the dev build a few days ago. I will be using them to make better sloped armor. Good by wedges! Hello slabs!

They also mention half wedges. I am going to have to completely redesign everything. I love this game.

does that mean a new multi-slot or will it be added to the armor multi-slot?

    1/3 slab block=1 block

kinda happy about it, i wasn't in for another multislot thingy

Slabs currently use the same slot as a full block. You simply specify the slab size before placing it. Picking up the slab will give you back a full block.
That is absolutely brilliant way to implement this into the game.
I look forward to see this in the public version as soon as possible.

does that mean that they have the same mass as a full block? that might hurt their usefulness but I'm not sure how you guys could make it a different mass if they are an extension of normal blocks

I always thought of the blocks as hollow and the interior of the block was full of wiring, ductwork, supporting structure, etc. So the mass really wouldn't change much, all the stuff is just more compressed inside the wall.

Now our walls can go from feeling like you are living inside a medieval castle to normal thickness walls. I just hope they release slab plex doors and windows also.

You guys planning on doing something similar with the colors of blocks? I'd be nice if we could use the paints to actually change the color rather than having to make a whole new block to do it. It'd mean adding a way to change back to grey though and maybe a spray can :)
