Got bored, terraformed an r50 planet plate into a volcano. I think it'd be cool if volcanic planets, with all the plates being tekt with the occasional volcano or lava river/lake, actually spawned.

I considered making it randomly spew out orange heatseekers, actually.
dock a bunch of cores in the plate underground, and have the orange heatseakers be 100% ion. If you spread them out just right, they will ark down into the ground and look like a cool volcano

I like the idea, but it may end up too large a source of tekt.

I really like the idea of proto-planets along with all the other planned stuff.

What's wrong with that? All tekt is for is for paint and carved rocks. Sure, you can make a decent profit selling carved rocks, but you could just mine asteroids for that.

Personally, though, I'd like to see all the planets have rocks replaced with asteroid type rocks. Replace the rock on desert worlds with lukrah, alien worlds with sugil, terran worlds with dolom, and ice worlds with larimar. I wouldn't say replace martian worlds with cinnabar, though, since they use a dark blue rock. Maybe have the upper 2 layers be blue rock, with cinnabar underneath that?

We could have moons (or rather, barren planets) use dolom as well. What kind of planets could use chabaz and varis, though?

EDIT- Maybe Titan-like worlds could use chabaz.

As a student in professional geology with a minor in astronomy, hit me up if you need any help/have any questions. More than happy to spend some of my time to help.

It's not in Suggestions, so i can't prefix it.

    Consider it "Read by Schine".

This wasn't originally a suggestion, but it quickly morphed into one.

I, too, study geology (working on it!) and appreciate beautiful worlds. The rainbow-minerals seem a fine replacement for the rainbow rocks, or for inclusions therein. Single-mineral planets don't make any more sense than single-rock planets, and single-theme planets bug me too. Even mars has polar ice caps and neat features, and our moon has interesting minerals under the bleached surface! :P

You're in luck- they said they'd like to add more planet types and multiple biomes to single planets in the Dev Q&A.

Ice planets already sort of have different biomes. You've got flat plates with massive canyons hiding in them, spires of ice and ice crystal, and a more generic looking surface.

Some biome ideas for volcanic worlds- hotspring biomes with small amounts of life around the pools of water. Plates that are almost entirely lava lakes. Volcanos. Barren ash planes. Any other ideas for biomes?
