So yeah... this is 500M of my 1km Capital
    Specs (Subject to change):
    1001M Long
    251M Wide
    27M High
    103K blocks
    5151 Mass

Though I am enjoying building it I am beginning to think that it is too big I am already at 103k blocks and not even 25% done with it, what are your thoughts? I can see this ship easily hitting 500k-1 Mil blocks :)

not sure if this is the right place to post this, so move if needed.

    Also posted on steam.

Also looking for anyone wanting to help in the future with logic stuff and interior design, If it's possible for multiple people to build one ship.

    wow thats pretty big
make sure you finish it and completely fill it in so that it doesn't cause lag (filling in completely gives 2x-3x more fps)

Yeah, the finished ship would be quite large, and yes, multiple people can build on 1 ship at once. You need build blocks.

This ship here when I built the hollow hull, I got around 30-40 fps. Now with it filled with approximately 4-5x more blocks than hollow, I get 100-120 fps.

Thanks for the info, only had this game a few days and i have been building Ship after ship, slowly learning and making better ships. I thought this might be the ultimate test of my skills, However i still don't understand AI Turrets, I have built a few of them and none have worked.

Stayed up all night building, will post more pics later.

Is it really 'that' much more FPS?!
Yea, because the textures on every exposed sides of blocks load, even if you can't see them. So if a ship is empty that's 2 to 4 times more surfaces to render. When the ship is filled only the external surface of the ship gets rendered, so it's a lot better for FPS :D

103k blocks isn't that big. Keep at it, I'd love to see this finished.

Yeah, i realize now that 100k isn't that much
after i had gotten that first half done i started feeling a little overwhelmed, like it was too big, but after searching around the internet looking at others builds i realized mine was right on par, so that kept me motivated. I am done with the main hull now and working on filling the interior before i put the roof on and work on the super structure.

Tried uploading more pics but it keeps saying that the files are too large. I'm taking the files directly from the starmade folder.

Also I'm looking for some ideas as to my reactors, i read the wiki on it and i believe i understand it, but any input on reactor/Cap, and shields systems will be much appreciated

Finally able to post some pics
Might want to try a different image hosting service. Imgur is a decent choice.

EDIT: And I notice that your first images are Imgur. Might wish to check if the links are to a gallery instead of a specific image.

Those are also Imgur not sure why they didn't work
    lets try this

Copy and pasted link directly into frame rather than using the image button lol

Now to try and figure out this reactor bussiness....

19x19x19 520k e/s each Maybe not the best but pretty damn good 1.1m e/s Total

Just an fyi, after you have passed 1 mil e/s, you will not get any bonuses by placing the power reactors in lines.

After you have passed 1 mil e/s you either
    - Place massive bricks of power reactors
    - Dock docked reactors (slightly more laggy and complicated but a lot more powerful) Here is an example of one: http://starmadedock.net/content/power-supply-unit-mk12.3331/
Just dock it and make sure that the power beam hits a power capacitor on the main ship.

Aceface is correct the 2th option is your best bet as placing massive bricks of power is less efficient than not.

The Mk12 will be your best option in terms of block vs space ratio and likely in that same space you would only get 1/4th the power this would provide vs just a spam of power modules..

However docked generators where fixed last patch and thus the lag he mentions is non existent.

Well... bounding box overlap lag. Beam lag is still a thing, but that shouldn't be an issue unless you've got a lot of reactors.

What if the beam emitter is flush against a ship block such that there is no beam propagation. Does the game still try to create a beam even though there is nowhere for the beam to go? Is there still lag?

The game still draws a very short beam. I think there's less lag if you have it set up like that, at least.

At one point due to lag between turrets and power cores I stopped building my titan. Between the last couple updates and designing some room around my power cores and rail speed controllers set to zero, my CPU usage has come down from 60% to 40-48% and I have over 84 power cores plus quite a few turrets etc.....

A trick for filling in space. If you don't what to put more systems in but just need filler that doesn't illuminate and is not transparent try motherboards. At a distance they look like rough concrete or metal till you get up close. If its used in internal areas no one will notice. Mass 0.01 System HP 5 Block HP 10.

For damage absorbing scaffolding is nice mass 0.01 system hp 10 block hp 75 problem is you can see through it which is bad for your video card.
