The Alaska class Heavy Cruiser, was developed by the North American Alliance during the Second Interstellar War. It would later see extensive use during the Orion War.
The Alaska Heavy Cruisers are the heaviest armed and armored ships in the NAA fleet, not classed as a battleships, and they have been known to pound unsuspecting battleships into galactic space dust. The Alaska is also considered a very prestigious posting, and is only given to the very best captains in the fleet.
