Suggestion Faction Account Rules

I've lately been seeing a lot of faction accounts popping up and being used for things that aren't faction related (having random conversations in chat, making suggestions, etc) and being used as proxies for faction members to dodge around permabans. So, I'd like to offer some suggestions for rules involving these accounts.

1. Faction accounts are only allowed to post in the factions section of the forums. They are also not allowed to talk in chat about any matters beyond their own faction.
2. Faction accounts cannot post on other factions threads unless it is an official faction action (declaration of war, offering peace, offering trade agreements, discussing combat training events, etc). For example, "We, X, are declaring war on you, Y." is valid, while "Your faction ships look cool, but I'd recommend changing A color to B color." is not, because it has nothing to do with official faction business.

If anyone has more suggestions for rules involving these faction accounts, they would be greatly appreciated.

I would like to see factions auto delete once faction points go to zero.

Of course, the database would need a sanity check so that ALL entities of deleted faction become factionless and therefore free-for-all (not, unknown faction).

ie
Faction points go to zero because people no longer playing in faction and after 7 days (changable via a setting) at zero, faction is automatically deleted and all entities owned by faction become factionless.

I don't think this is a good idea, because people could just as well make an alt and post, the same as they could have with a faction account. this solves nothing

Or should be restricted from doing much, except posting 1 thread.[they are really useful for managing a faction-thread(editing the OP after an owner change without having to completely remake the thread e.g.)]

All I know is there is rules and guidelines for alt accounts. A "Faction account" is really just another Alt for a few people, so if any one of them tries to ban-dodge or break any rules, it's treated the same as any account.

Faction accords get no special treatment anyways afaik, it's just another user account that people decided was some kind of special.

The problem with that is that it's rather hard to prove a faction account is being used as an alt when multiple people use it and the people who are banned and using it are using proxies or just changed their IP.

Well, a faction account isnt used as an alt, it is an alt. They have the same amount of difficulty taking down normal ban-dodging alts. They already have rules for stuff like alts, and trying to set special restrictions for special types of alts doesn't make it any easier to weed out the dodgers.

It makes it impossible for people to really use it to ban dodge, though. All they can do is make threads and comments about their own faction or faction relations.

And? That just means they will make a faction account that is not an official faction account and just use it as such. Unless you set it so only faction accounts can make faction threads, it aint gonna fix much.
