Lukrah and Tekt asteroids have a large amount of useless dirt/lava filler that reduces the amount of ore you can get from the asteroids. I think the dirt/lava core of these asteroids should be reduced in size to allow more ore to generate.

    Cinnabar vs Tekt

Notice the significantly higher amount of blocks that could be ore.

I think we generally need better asteroids.
Bigger. Better resource distribution. Maybe a small, randomly generated, ruined mining facility. You know, all that suff.

I wouldn't want that to be a general change to the game. As I said in the other thread, I like the asteroids the way they are; if I don't want lava, I don't mine it.

What asteroids, planets, stations, galaxies, and the universe in general, needs are configuration options in the server.cfg, so the server operator can define what their universe should look like.

Yeah, I think you misunderstood this. The point is that Lukrah and Tekt asteroids give lower amounts of resources at the same mass, since they're like 50% dirt/lava.

I think I understood well enough.
At the moment, Lukrah, Tekt and Dolom are fixed to have a lower ore density compared to other asteroids (or those have higher densities, however you want to look at it). I consider that as Schine showing off the possible range of asteroid compositions, at the moment without giving us the tools to change that.
If we had specific configuration options (which I think we will get at some point), you(r sysop) could change that to be more even, or be even more unbalanced, whatever fits the server's playstyle.
