So i recently got the game again and while the game was running at over 600fps on startup, as soon as i got to a planet, my FPS dropped to less than 5fps. I am running 8gb RAM and a Nvidia 750ti (2gb) so i shouldnt have any issues at all
    any help?

Allocate more memory to the game - just because you have 8gb, doesn't mean the game uses it.
Also, planets will brutalise your FPS. I have a gtx970 and I lose hundreds of FPS looking at planets.

Do you have a 64-bit version of Java installed? If you only have 32-bit Java then 1024 MB is the max amount of memory able to be allocated to the game. Any more will cause it to simply close.
