It would be neat to have body armor to protect you in a fight and if not out right make your guy look cooler instead of an space academy cadet and will instead make you look like a battle ready soldier or even make an admiral or captains coat

Not needed in the games current state, but once infantry combat is actually a part of the game, it would be a must I feel. As for cosmetics, remember that you can customize your skin if you want to look like an admiral.

I'd like a personal shield generator over body armor myself. Keeps with the sci-fi theme better and they regenerate over time.

Maybe kind of have both but with limits to not being able to withstand ship attacks as to prevent charges to board a ship

Hope they make them soon but would also rather they deal with smoothing gameplay out as well

Needless to say taking a direct hit from ship weapons and surviving would be too much, but being able to soak some damage from anti personel turrets would be okay.

I prefer shields too. Mass Effect style.
