You're going to leave bad blood, Chevalleis, especially if you make a habit of using crap like that as 'justification.' If you're going to attack people for no legitimate reason, then at least don't send things like "death to horsehumpers" as your war declaration. If that's how you have your fun, fine, but don't expect that there won't be consequences at some point. I can't pretend to have sufficient capabilities to defeat the Helkan Imperium, but I highly doubt that you're the only ones flying big guns around, and I also doubt that I'm going to be the only person you mess with. Eventually, you're going to run into someone who can bite back... Or someone who can't will grow some teeth.

I don't consider the attack in and of itself dickish, it was mostly the harassment that was thrown at me by Boroski(and others) after I escaped the attack.

I said myself on chat, "I can't really blame you guys for randomly raiding people seeing as there isn't much to do in the game at this point," but that's not what I was talking about... As Luna said, it's the harassment that came with it that ticks me off. Most of our resources are still in storage aboard the new homebase, so the loss of one noobship and a basic miner isn't particularly crippling, and even if it was, then... well, whatever, it's a PvP server.

That's pretty much the root of most "wars" on Starmade. Someone attacks someone, then brags about their victory and continually harasses the loser for months afterwards, turning it from what was initially friendly/bored pew pews into genuine hatred.

I suspect that this is actually the game's fault, if anything. People want to give meaningless conflict meaning, so they start flinging crap at each other to create some form of conflict... Once Shipyards come out (Actually getting ships built will be a lot less of a pain in the ass), PvE is fleshed out more, the faction system is finished, and a few other systems (Cargo, for one) are put in, ingame conflict should have a bit more meaning and you should see some of the shitflinging die down.
