Been building a warp gate and trying to get it to fully work and so far both directions seems to be an issue. I built one gate and just loaded another copy of it for this test. Going to go do some more testing with two loaded versions of it while I'm waiting.

In the meantime anyone have a fix for this or ways around it?

I was equally confused about warp gates when I first started building them.

Think of it this way, it helped me.

When you zap the ring with the marker gun, you are "saving" it's location into the gun. When you use it on the other computer, you are "uploading" the coordinates to the other gate to it.

    So ideally you should:
    1) Build the first gate
    2) Use marker gun on the first gate
    3) Travel by ship to where you want the second gate to be
    4) Build the second gate
    5) Use marker gun on it's computer to upload the coordinates of the first gate
    6) Use marker gun on ring to save coordinates off second gate
    7) Go through second gate to get back to first
    8) Use marker gun on first gate's computer to tell it where the second gate is.

That's exactly what I did. I just loaded two more copies of the same gate and those work fine both ways. It's just the first gate I built will only work as a destination not a departure point. >_>

Weird, I would ask if you were sure you were left/right clicking correctly, but if you successfully 2-way linked other gates, I don't see why you should be having a problem with that one? Definitely freaky.

Yep, haven't tested with two built gates yet rather than just spawning them from blueprints. My guess is it is an issue with built gates other than that I've got no idea why. o_O Annoying putting all that effort into it for it to not want to work and only to have the spawned version of it work perfectly fine. XD

OK now I'm stumped. I have no idea what's going on at this point some sectors it'll work and others it won't going both ways. I'm thinking the marker might not be overriding the last saved destination or something because this and if it works or not tends to be rather spotty.

Attached the latest version of the offending party here for those that want to poke around and try to break it. :)

This is an excellent summation of about 80% of all technical problems I have ever had with any computerized device, good to hear it's working now though.

Strange an annoying this is it is like every time I make a change to the gate itself or the rest of the station around it the thing refuses to remember the destination it sends too. o_O
