What view do you folks fly in?

I was checking out a few of the player made ships but the ones bigger than a fighter seem like the core is buried deep inside so they have to be flow from 3rd person. I cant say I enjoy this as I cant see where I'm going or where I am shooting. Am I missing something? Is there another way to see out of the ship when flying besides 3rd person?

Camera blocks d00d. Place them then use the left/right arrow keys to switch to them.

OMG, that was way easier. Next question... I seem to be stuck in one camera now when I hit "R" on a core even after I try and use the arrow keys. Did I hit a wrong button and make that camera the default view?
