Are you experiencing Lag or choppy performance in your multiplayer game? I have not tried this with single player game by the way.

    Try a /search MOB_ command.

I found a sector that was reporting server lag and on investigation I found nearly 200 pirates had been generated (spawned) in and around the sector.

Use the /despawn_all MOB_ all true command to get rid of all your mobs (game generated ships) in one go. Now my server runs like a dream. I run this command once a day to help keep it clean.

Check your Blueprints (BPs) permissions to make sure all that the ENEMYUSABLE flag is set for only the ships that you want. Check your spacestation BPs too as I found that my game was starting to generate enermy stations too (to remove enemy station mobs you need to run /despawn_all MOB_ all false).

    Hope his helps some people.

As a server gets bigger, you may want to run that command every few hours, other the sheer number of pirates getting deleted locks the database up and means that players can not sync with the server for a good 15 minutes

this means the game is not unloading mobs in unloaded sectors. that is bad and needs to be bug reported. this is an optimization bottleneck and may actually be a key to planets causing lag too. I've experienced some lag spikes drop due to planets that are unloaded but still buffering if these mob entities are doing that, maybe the planets are too.

It unloads them alright. Right into a save spot in the server-database until someone flys through the nearby sectors. Ragnarok Galaxies save file got up to 4.1 GB

What if I capture a pirate ship called MOB_whateveryouwanttocallyourpirates, modify it how I please and continue to use it and the admin runs the "/despawn_all MOB_ all true" command, will it delete my ship? If so, I'm guessing renaming it won't help either as it tends to be the original name that sticks.

yes it will despawn the renamed ship. This is kinda an oversight since /search now uses the renamed names, instead of the original one. /despawn_all (and /despawn_sector) still use the original one.

How convenient you're already here. I'd like to report a bug :P

    Damn, this is annoying.
If the /despawn operation works on old names and people capture the pirates, how do I remove just the pirate spawns in the world without affecting others????

Also, what about Trading Guild ships, they do not even have a MOB tag it seems.

    BUG!!!!!!!

    Hi Guys,

What other advice could you please give for server maintenance within the game as an admin to improve PING and or FPS?
I help out on a server as an Admin by performing server restarts every morning before work, but I don´t have the knowledge on how to improve performance in the game and sadly the main Admin is away and uncontactable.
From searching I found this thread but see this atm is not a solution.

    Thanks in advance,

    Pho

Seems any mob spawned has the tag but it isn't always in the visible name.

Anyways this could be handy info for those even in single player.
