I was thinking a while ago. Why not have a minimum, which is currently 10k roughly, but also let the drive computer charge faster by taking more power if there is extra, but lower the amount that it's taking to balance the amount of power that is being consumed if something else is in use like say a scanner, shield recharging, or thrusting. This is basically throttling the power based on priority, which would be a nice feature on it's own, but that's a different topic altogether.

Another idea would be to be able to slave a drive computer to another and increase warp by 1.5 times the distance or even twice the distance, but cost more power. It can make traveling faster and connect everyone from farther away. It'll make long operation activities like supplying a shop two star systems away quicker. (Yes I am aware you can just change warp distance in the files, but most people don't know how to do that.)

If you think going two systems away is far, do I have some bad news for you.

If you find your jump drive is slow, add more jump drive modules. It's as simple as that.

The 2 systems away thing was just an example, What I would find far is warping to a area continuously while moving at high speed for 30 minutes to get to a worm hole. I've also recently learned about the jump manual, and it can get complicated to find out exactly what you'll need so you don't waste space.
