How do i read a ship's power?

I have seen people post the amount of power generation that their ships produce, yet I can't find anything that tells me that information.

I'm trying to increase the power to a ship so it can move and shoot at the same time without draining, and it would be a lot easier if I could compare power expenditure with power production.

You will find your ship's stats on the left of your screen while in build mode. You'll see your ship's energy generated per second, among mass and other stats. I have included an image of the stats of an unfinished ship as an example and for reference. Hope it helps!

Thanks, I can't believe I missed that.

Though, is there a way to see how much energy the engines and weapons use? (unless thrust can be compared against energy per second?)

One easy way is to put the thrusters on your ship and take it for a test drive, your weapons will/should always take more energy than your thrusters, so ideally you should be able to fly your ship with no noticeable energy drain (assuming you place enough weapons to cause any damage) But again, if you're worried, you can always build then test. If you can fly your ship without the energy bar (bottom left under the toolbar) flickering or decreasing, then you should be good to go!

My thust was 0.0 in the example picture because I had not placed thruster blocks yet.

Thrusters take 25e per point of thrust. I believe you can find info about your weapon's power requirements in the Structure tab.

I get nothing at all in that area..just thr chat block. And I mean nothing above the f1 for log...
