Spawn ship without all parts.

We can copy and paste while missing blocks why can't we spawn ships while missing blocks?

We may not want decorative computers on the ship.

I definitely agree with this request. I would think that it would be very easy to implement. Perhaps this feature could be added along side the ship yard feature.

I agree, but some aspects seem to be overlooked, such as how does the blueprint know which blocks can be left out? Or could you spawn a blueprint with just thrusters, for example?

Honestly, what parts get left out could even be down to the player. Would make refitting, and colour swaps much more convenient.

I believe a general overhaul of the blueprint system will be implemented with shipyards. Hopefully refitting and armor swapping will be easier.

Well ... if we could talk people that build ships and post blueprints into using nothing but colored hull and posting them empty it would do the job. Of course some of the canon stuff for RP I can see not posting empty hulls but otherwise ....

I think spawning an incomplete blueprint should work about the same as trying to paste a 50x50x50 area of blocks without enough to fill the whole cube. The BP is spawned front to back, or back to front, and blocks are taken until there are none left. That way, you can still get something in without all of one effect computer, or shields, or armor or whathaveyou.

Not only would this be the easiest to implement, but it would also allow for the spawning of just ship shells by only including armor, or hull.
