    There has been some serious anger since the last war. I have noticed most say it ended thanks to the update making fighting difficult. At the same time I have been thinking of expanding CE to Halo Reach. I have expanded upon that. What if each faction built bases and planetary things in Halo Reach and then at war times factions can wage FPS wars on these maps. Each map submitted could be looked over and made sure it was fair for both parties. Each faction would take a team color and on all maps that color must be represented. Sure we have pistols here in Starmade but just pistols. Vehicles are right now out of the question for actual use.

    I believe this is a fair arrangement at this time

    ARMOR

    Caldera Empire = ODST Helmet any variant, ODST Shoulder Plating (Both Shoulders), ODST Chestplate, Blue Visor

    DFN = ???

    Vaygr = ???

    Calderon Republic = ???

    Void Templars = ???

    Tartaran Empire = ???

    NGE = ???

    COLORS

    Brown = Calderon Republic

    Red = Vaygr

    Orange = DFN

    Blue = Void Templars

    Black = NGE

    Purple = ???

    Green = ???

    Pink = ???

    Yellow = ???

    Currently I am working on a Caldera Empire Headquarters map and Outpost. After that maybe a neutral refinery.

    A way to keep it organized.

    1. Each faction makes a headquarters map and 2 different outpost maps
    2. We create 10 neutral maps (Cities, ruined cities, caves, refineries, labs)
    3. Each faction has a specified armor selection
    4. We have a layout for the which map comes next.

    This is a good, not very well thought out idea. While I can see the logic and why you would say this. This idea would take away any advantage/disadvantage a faction has against another in starmade:
    The most noticeable problem with this is that if a faction has very powerful ships, they suddenly loose that advantage when playing it out on a halo reach battle, as a vehicles and weapons are balanced out to a certain extent to make the game more fun in reach, the same also goes for the inverse, when factions with weak ships find themselves on a balanced playing field.
    Another problem is skill. Some factions spend hours rehersing what little starmade strategy and tactics there are, so makeing them play a game where suddenly all that practise has no value is a bit silly. As people who are good with FPS games will dominate people who are good at starmade.
    I could go on and on, there are still a multitude of problems i have not written. In my humble opinion I think the starmade community should just wait until Starmade is optimized enough to support the type of large scale warfare we all dream of

    I think this would be good just to keep the fires of war going. There is the ability to edit the game type as well letting us "Rebalance" the field of war based on the factions. ;)

    The glaring issue with this is the fact that people without Halo are now useless. So yeah... It would have to be a F2P for this to have any viability.

    An interesting concept, but there are a lot of issues that could arise. Still, an interesting concept.

    Halo Reach is owned by many people and is still in most retail stores for a low price. One of the reasons I picked it over Halo 4

    Personally, I have 3, ODST, Reach, and 4, but none of the map DLC, excepting 3 because ODST's multiplayer is 3's multiplayer with all of the maps and shit. Although I bought it for the plot because I'm kind of crazy like that.

    * also have 2, and played 1 on PC

    Of course, I'm not in any of your factions and I never played the online MP in any of the Halos enough to unlock all the fancy armors.

    Didn't Microsoft give away Halo 3 as part of the Games with Gold promotion?

    i have all the games but 3. i've rented it and it has the best multiplayer reach and up no longer have that "halo" play style, it's just COD with future guns and armor. i think it's a good idea, but could be improved.

    I found another issue, that nobody talked about in here:
    What if someone does not own a console and for some reason is unable to buy one?

    This doesn't keep faction warfare viable, it moves it to a different game. The whole point of faction warfare is to attack other member's facilities and ships. If we can't even fight other players in game then what's the point of even having a faction in the first place? If you wanna go play Halo, fine, just don't try to pull everyone else away from the game with you on the way out.

    1. Vehicles are viable right now.

    2. Faction warfare is already viable & alive.

    on topic of OP, you can already do all these customisations without changing the game now, that is why it is being designed with your desire for these personal enhancement in mind.

    • RE NECRO POST - this forum has not been around long enough to have any posts that qualify as being "Necro"

    If you want to make a 100% themed Halo Server you can. I expect you will. Please be specific about this in your OP so people don't assume you want STARHALO REACH to be a vanilla part of the game. Factions can do whatever they want with their private servers.

    TLDR
    don't come here asking people to go fight starmade faction wars in a different game, because you aren't happy with how it works in Starmade now. That's seriously weak game and tantamount to trolling. I know you better than that.

    In terms of vehicles being viable they really aren't.

    This idea is to keep the heat of a war going and offer the chance to people who can't fight in this game (It is hard without using turrets) to fight in another game which can easily be tailored for our uses.

    Apparently all the big factions don't think its all that doable right now.

    As far as this is going yesterday I finished a Caldera Empire Outpost.

    Sooo instead of keeping up with the meta you're going to dumb it down with something easier? That's absurd.

    Claiming that Halo is more customizable than starmade is hands-down the dumbest thing I've heard all year. If I still had CS6 installed I'd make a fancy graphic that says as much. Starmade is a /sandbox/ game. Halo is a first person shooter. Just by nature of gameplay starmade is more customizable, and with the next update, EASILY tailored to fit anybody's taste.

    In terms of vehicles being viable they really aren't.
    Are you going to present proof of this or are you just going to say that and not back it up?

    Furthermore, if I were a conspiracy theorist I'd say that you want to do this because of how sorely #REKT you were by the Borg on illusive. If you can't stand the heat in the faction oven, then get out of the faction scene.
