    Hi guys,
My "server-database/index" have got a big-big problem (index77) and one of my costumers have build a big big station without make a blueprint. Now... i like so much her station, so i wona to try to save it (because he spent so much time in estetic things).
So, my question is: there is a way to convert .smd2 files in "server-database/random/DATA" from they base form to .sment super sayan form? I mean... you know alchemy, right? Can some one pass me the recipe of philosopher's Stone?

Thank you so much and I apologize for the bad English ... I 've got tried .

    Oky, i've got the answer.
So... there is a "short" explanation for: why can't we recover the ships or entity from .smd2 file in "database" folder?

    Tnkyou

Because the smd2 files don't contain all necessary data.
All they contain is which blockID with what HP and orientation is where[in relation to the core], nothing more. Contents of blocks, connections between blocks, etc. are all stored in the other files.

Then the files can't be extracted there. Thanks for the information.

So you're also saying that I have no chance to retrieve the information necessary to create a blueprint of the entities of the universe corrupt ?

In case I will prepare myself to be lynched ... even if they could have saved the blueprint in local.

If the related .ent files aren'T corrupted, you should be able to move the entities to another universe by copying them alongside the smd2 files.

So, i copied .ent file in NeWorld folder and .smd2 file in DATA folder... but i don't know if the station spawns for real in the universe.
I tried the "/search" command but it can't find anything.
Do you have some extra-suggestion for me? (...and other "index" victims)

    Thanks for your help anyway.

Well, do you know in which sector the station(s) were before the corruption?
If so, make a new station with the exact same name there, shut down the server, copy&paste the .ent and .smd2 files over[overwriting any already existing files], and start the server again, you should've tricked the game into integrating the foreign object into the universe :P

One more question... probably the last until the "recover guide" i'm working on (Thanks for your help in greater part).

Question: do you know if there is a readable file where the game stores information about the position of entities? I'll try to encript it by myself... but if you have informations for this too, i'll be glad.

    One more time... THANKS

PS: i tried to spawn at the same sector (i'm pretty sure, but not 100%) of lost universe, but there is a little red platform and a lot of ping in a singleplayer session. Do you know what does this mean?

This means the smd2 file cannot be fully read and/or doesn't match the bounds set in the .ent file.
