Building a rail system that extends from the ship to the outer engines on either sides of the ship. The engines will be attached by scaffolding with crystal armor creating a tunnel between the ship and the engines. Now, I was wondering that, since I have windows on the trams so that engineers and other personal can look out at space, should I make the floor of the trams see-through? This will be crystal armor, of course, but would anyone like that idea of a tram you can see space from?

Well the good part of the clear tram is it will be dramatic. Even in games you can unnerve people with 'glass' floors. Make sure to enforce gravity. Now the bad news. you need a gap so the tram isn't adjacent to the tube's walls. If two transparent blocks are adjacent the rendering for the ones behind doesn't happen.

Overall it should be a great effect if you get the layering of the transparent blocks right. Add in clever use of charged crystals you can make it lit in a very cheery or dark way and people will not see the pattern on the charged crystals (Sandwich them between the crystal armor and they disappear.)
