Suggestion; transfer contents of storage when docked

Hello SM community,
i host a private server for myself and a few of my friends who are spread out across the world, its a great way to keep in touch and spend time together, thanks for this great game!

we have noticed a few things that we feel could make gameplay a bit more smooth.

1) when docking a ship, there should be a way to either automate cargo transfer, or just activate a block to kick off an automated process.

for example;

use a logic block and link it to certain storage boxes on a ship, when the ship is docked use a corresponding logic block to start or be initiated by player, automated transfer from the ships designated storage blocks to the station/mothership.

why we feel this would be useful;

our spacedock accommodates 8 ships total; and we provide materials through the space dock that are processed through factories in as automated a process as we can figure out.
transferring cargo from ships to the dock can be time consuming or annoying.

wouldn't it be convenient if you docked your ship and the cargo in the designated boxes auto transferred and was processed for you?

i feel of all the suggestions i can think of, this would bring the most improvement to the game.

That would be nice. Also maybe have a cargo transfer beam that is linked to storages and when you shoot another storage it would transfer the cargo to that one.

Yeah, some method of accessing the cargo on a docked ship is a pretty common request.

In the mean time, you can speed things up by having a storage box right outside of where you dock your ship, and put everything in it. Then have an auto-pull all set to pull everything from that box into your main sorting in-box.

Its not perfect, but its a lot better than trying to run across your base to where your factories are.

yeah, we presently employ a dockside box, but its pretty arduous to transfer cargo.
