What do you think of the idea?

The idea of Inertia Thrusters is simple, you quite simply place them around your ship as if it were a normal thruster (in other words, anywhere) and it would increase the turning/rotating speed of the ship it's attached to. It would use less power, as it outputs slightly less, and the more there are, a multiplier increases slightly, this multiplier affects all inertia thruster turning speeds, regardless of being adjacent to eachother or not.

A simple idea, yet one that could make turning large ships bearable. ^_^

I'm giving this a thumbs-down if only because turning rate is on the agenda for a future change. I don't think that dev change will come any time soon, but neither are a lot of other neat things.

I dont like the Idea either.
Because why should a massive 1mil Block ship should turn as fast as a 3k Blocks fighter?
The turning rate and how it drops can be changed in the serverconfigs and Block configs.
anything else would be copied from space engeneers.
I like the system how it works right now and ther are enough options to improve it.

Only if it only affects maximum turning speed.
It should not touch turning acceleration.

Big ships should not feel like small ships.

    Just do following math:

average turning speed = max server speed / ship's mass^(1/3) * serverMult // to not give cubes any advantage over other shapes.

    turning speed x = y*z area.
    turning speed y = x*z area.
    turning speed z = x*y area.

That would be good, I don't want big ships to feel like small ships, I just want it to be bearable to turn them, a lot of the time I get confused in what direction I'm looking in relation to other things because it's so slow to turn even slightly.

Anything else would be copied from space engineers.
I don't want this game to be like Space Engineers, again, they would be placed like normal thrusters, so they can be placed anywhere without any real difference. Space Engineers is a buggy pile of ass in my eyes. :/

The thrust system will allow you to allocate thrust to turning. Personally I feel that both should have separate points for max speed and acceleration.
