What is it?
The USD Type-1 is a community-designed universal docking layout that specifies the position and orientation of rail dockers and basic rails in order for player ships and stations to be able to be compatible.
This version of the USD Type-1 comes after the announcement of the new spawn station, which saw the USD Type-1 be adopted on an official developer-constructed station. Based off the USD Type-1 featured on that station, this version of the USD Type-1 comes with a couple in-built features like the ability to lock out players from being able to use the dock, and responsive doors that detect when docking entities attach and detach.
How is it built?
What comes in the ZIP?
The ZIP contains the blueprint (.sment) file of a ship that just has the USD Type-1 on it, as well as the template (.smtpl) file used with copy and paste in the advanced build tools.
To install the blueprint:
• In the Connection Setup Launcher select "Tools" from the menu and click "Open Ship Catalog Manager"
• Click Import and select the USD Type-1.sment file
• The ship will now be available in your catalog in-game.
To install the template:
• Browse your install directory for StarMade\templates
• Copy the USD Type-1.smtpl file into this folder
• The template will now be available in-game under the "Load" option of the advanced build tools, you can then use "Paste" to paste it.
A note on using the template:
• You can change the orientation of the template you are pasting by using the operators and the scroll-wheel. Be aware though that this can change the orientation of the Rail Docker and Basic Rail. If you need to fix their orientation then remove those two blocks and replace so they match the image above.
