The Mirage ("Le Mirage")

    The Mirage ("Le Mirage") 1.0

This looks really cool and even better in game!
    Hello All, :D

Je le trouve magnifique ! Bravo !

    Merci bien !
I'm rating this based entirely on the aesthetics of the ship, which is among the best i've seen so far. I especially love the internal view of the engines, something i've tried to do but not quite this well. The colours are lovely, no boring grey blob, and the use of running lines both on the sides and bottom look great without being overused. The interior is a bit underwhelming compared to the rest, although it still makes good use of lighting, and the path from the core to the elevator is particularly nice.

As for rooms the hangars are really nice with good use of logic, the bridge is nice although some consoles at the top level would be nice, they would kind of ruin the form. The crew rooms however are not very good, could definitely use some color variation or maybe some system blocks/piped would help. The lower observation deck could also use more works, it is very uniform and square, doesn't really fit the rest of the ship. These are just a few rooms though, and not completely terrible, just below the standard set by the rest of the ship.

I also noticed that the black areas on the outer sides of the ship's front aren't wedges, which i'm assuming is an oversight. They appear to be sized off for wedging so it looks like you just forgot.

When it comes to systems however i found it sadly underwhelming. A lot of this is due to the strain a split hull design puts on you, as you need more armor blocks to cover the ship without gaining any system blocks, but there are some things i think you can do better without altering the ship too heavily.

First of all, the turrets. When you have micro-turrets like these that aren't for missile defense it's always a good idea to use overdrive as their effect; from what i can tell you have plenty of power in the turret joints to power them, so the energy efficiency is not really a concern, but the current turrets i think are too weak to even break through fighter shields or armor blocks. Consider switching to some higher damage setups, like can/mis/overdrive or beam/ - /overdrive for short range.

As for main weapons, the idea itself seems solid; rush opponent, use shield drain to wreck his shields, then finish him off with missiles; however there are a few issues with this. MIS/CAN doesn't seem like a very good choice for it, simply because it's very slow acting compared to missile setups like MIS/PUL or just MIS/ - it's great for making a lot of small holes or digging a long tunnel, but against a moving target it's more a liability than anything else. Would recommend switching to MIS/PUL.
The swarmers work well for this tactic, but given the lack of turret coverage i would assume they are also supposed to protect the ship from smaller ships? If this is the case, keep in mind that higher slave% gives more missiles but also slower ones; It is not a bad idea to reduce the slave effect to 50% (You can just add more blocks in main and effect to keep DPS the same) so the swarmers become fast enough to hit ships with higher speed. The shield drain beam is fine, but the ship doesn't seem to focus around it that much. It has incredibly poor range so your ship needs to be fast and durable enough to get into range. I could not keep the Ion effect and radar jammer active while at full speed, consider switching some thruster for more reactors. At the same time, the beam will restore your own shields so the high number of shield rechargers doesn't help this at all; consider switching for more shield capacitors and using the beam for recharge as another million shield will increase your chances of lasting long enough to get close.
I also noticed that the ship has a whopping 30million energy capacity; a capacity none of your weapons are even remotely close to using. Again, recommend switching for more reactors as the ship badly needs more power.

Have to say it's really depressing to see such a nice design getting shafted by all the penalties for armor/cosmetic blocks.

Lastly is the logic. I think your doors would benefit a lot from staying open longer, you kind of need to rush through after hitting the button. Simply adding a few delay blocks after the block currently opening the door, then an OR-signal connected to that block and all the delays would solve this.

It would be very nice if the elevator had a call button, i believe Sven the Slayer has a tutorial on that, but don't have the link handy.

Overall very nice ship held back by some of starmade's silly ballancing.

I thanks you for your critic of my ship, I took care to read all points which you have noted and it will help me for the next upgrade of the Mirage. Realy Thanks
This ship is fantastic! You've made a well-detailed vessel that breaks from the "pretty stick" mentality that's been going around. Great job!
