Following the failure of the Xiphactus heavy fighter, Atomic shipyards went back to the drawing board to construct another fighter craft, focusing on top speed, acceleration and firepower over survivability and agility . The result was the Star Hussar, at 53 meters long and with a 5.0 Thrust to weight ratio, the star hussar is fast enough to conduct interception missions and keep pace with all its competitors. Controlling the Starhusar for prolonged periods of time puts intense strain on the pilot, so the design team at the Nylox Core Orbital facility build two variants, a one seated territorial defence fighter, with its FTL drive swapped out for extra shield capacity, and the Two seater, FTL drive equipped standard model. All models of the Star hussar boast thicker than usual armour for a starfighter, a jamming system, and three ‘Sintiraron’ charge beams. These beams have good damage output, but short range. Combined with the hussars lower than average manoeuvrability for a fighter makes the hussar better at attacking larger targets like frigates, rather than other fighter craft with its heavier than average armour shrugging off most light weapon fire for long enough to close and do damage. These traits, as well as its FTL capabilities have made the StarHussar popular with privateers, its high speed, stealth and surprisingly hefty punch makes it an attractive choice for those who can’t afford larger vessels.

While Atomic shipyards high council was generally supportive of the final product, several issues did arise. The Fighter was longer than what was desired, being unable to fit into the rear hanger on the Providence class battleship and only fitting into the Interrogator assault carrier’s launch bays. The standard variants shield grid was also deemed to be woefully insufficient to absorb incoming damage, leading to fears that it would be vulnerable to other lighter fighters such as the Isanths variants, and while a star hussar can easily blast a MK IV Isanth apart with handful of salvos, its larger size may make it more susceptible to swarms of more agile fighters. Other odd choices include a lack of docking port or access hatch to the cockpit, instead pilots enter the ship though the front cockpit window, which is made of composite forcefield/glass door to offer a good mix of pilot visibility and durability. Nevertheless, the final product was approved for mass production, and has seen extensive action on the Skies of eden server, seeing action against the Formidan Confederation, Virtual Hedonists and the Khaldrin Conglomerate, often acting as either the fleet vanguard or in light patrol duty.

The dock was looking a bit inactive so I figured I'd upload something, I’ll probably revisit the engine/back end of this thing at some point as I’m not that happy with how it looks at current. It should make a pretty decent pirate if you are looking to replace the standard Isanth with a more killy, but more fragile ship.
