    SSI-Fighter_Bomber_Mark_I 2017-01-22

I've been watching a large amount of star citizen recently, mainly Magztv (what a funny fucker!) and have been getting overloaded with ideas and inspiration.

A fighter bomber i made overnight.
Started to build the core in the cockpit with the idea of having gull doors similar to the General Dynamics F-111, but couldn't figure out a way to hide the rail or the door cores.

I then opted for a whole sliding glass peice, but kept running into problems. So instead I moved the core rearward and decided to build a small RolePlay interior.

So its combat ability is probably shit, but...errr...Roleplay!

The Fighter Bomber MK I is a long range first strike bomber first, fighter second. Its features include: Cockpit, Crew Bunks, Cockpit Bathroom, Core Room (debatable), Engineering Stations, and Rear Entry/Exit Bay. The ship was built with the idea of long range/duration missions, which with the facilities the Fighter Bomber MK I carries, allow these missions to be carried out in somewhat comfort.

    Cockpit

    An Engineering Station

Ship Bathroom (Crews complain severely that the toilet is not in a seperate compartment from the shower)

    Crew Bunks

    A very bland Core Room

Rear Bay (only entrance/exit, i tried fitting in airlocks but kept running out of space)

Any feedback is appreciated, any suggestions are welcomed, as is any constructive/deconstructive criticism.

    What a nice small corvette...

    As for the critics: PD?

Also, using quarter-slabs, you can make crew quarters a lot smaller. For example, the whole bathroom area can be fitted in 2(w)x3(l)x3(h) space (toilet, shower cabin, washbasin w/o mirror) with at least one wall in the same area. Glass doors make a rather nice cover for a shower cabin which can be opened and closed. Ice is a great mirror. Bunks are a bit fat, I'd go with quarter-slabs, maybe with half-slab for a pillow.

To decrease space used, the ship core can be located at the first pilot's/captain's seat's headrest, without a dedicated room. Thus you get a wonderful "Pilot-this-first-person" view from the cockpit. The times of core sniping are long gone.

Even taking into account possible improvements, this is a truly great little corvette and a nice addition for my collection. I just love RP ships, they have a "real" feeling. Not like those battle-oriented ultraheavy drones.

Cheers for the review mate. Will take your advice and update it sometime.

Old habits die hard i guess, i keep building my cores in the thickest parts of my ships.
