Rotayon MK2

    Rotayon MK2 2018-07-25

    Game version
    v0.201.130
(I built the MK1 last year before the power update)

    -----------

Good old european mining ship from 2084. Mass produced in the end of the 21th century to exploit the asteroid belt, the Rotayon got forgotten pretty fast once newer ships began to emerge. They now belong in a museum.

It's proeminent feature is the fully automatic rotating salvage system placed just behind the cockpit. It can be controlled in flight with a remote.

While the original model is obsolete, during the 23th century a group of vintage entusiasts managed to get their hands on the original Rotayon blueprints and tuned it a bit. They reinforced the structure, enlarged the interior, revamped the shields and even added an advanced stealth system.

It may not be very fast but it's now a miner with a strong enought protection and can even work in pirate infested sector by staying invisible.

    4.5/5!
ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE ROTATING MINING ARRAY. Works flawlessly, I'm definitely checking out how to play with logic to do something similar in future builds.

    I love the cockpit hatch.

1- same as with the scraper, try using crystal around an ice wall for a default yellow glow but setting the thrusters to yellow so you get bloom in the engine. Default colouring is okay but a lively glow is always nicer.

2- Put the core by the seat in future builds, this one I fell into space. Always consider core placement when building. putting it right by, on, or in the cockpit chair is usually safe since it's your default camera.

Overall my favourite build of yours. Great structure and creative choices with the look and logic!

Thanks for the recommendations man! I'll try to do that in future builds, thought the next one is already finished
Only reason i'm giving this a 3 star is because i cant find where all the stuff im mining is going. Please tell me and i will make it 5

I looked into it, beside what I put in the update, your problem is actually ship permissions. When you mine the cargo needs to transfert from the pod to the axis then to the main ship body. You have to allow these transferts by going on each subpart of the ship and go to radial menu -> rail load/unload -> alway allow. It should solve your problem.

The cargo have 2 places where it's put : the main one in the back of the cockpit and a secondary one on the axis, used for transfert from subparts, it fills only when the main emplacement is full.

Hope it helps, and thanks for testing the ship!
