The PMC-777 Mining Rig, nicknamed the "Triple Seven", has been a staple of interstellar mining and salvage operations for almost as long as PMC Industrial has been in business.
It's continuous fire salvage beam, ample cargo space, medium range scanner, and modest jump drive make it the go to rig for most entrepreneurs who are looking to upgrade. It's also isn't as defenseless as many smaller miners all too often are, and has the protection of PMC's patented Dual AMS turrets, along with a small rocket battery and forward cannon turret.
There are a total of 6 turret hard-points, which are often customized by their owners who prefer to have their own turret setup. That being said, miners often modify their Triple Sevens to the point where no two are alike on the inside, adding more shields, thrusters, or power capacitors to suit their needs.
The new Model B Triple Seven has been outfitted with a small crew quarter for 2, allowing for longer trips out and shift work. The small bunkhouse has 2 beds, a table, chair, first aid kit, and personal storage for crew personal belongings. This has brought about a redesign of the interior by blocking off access to the cargo area which was once accessible in the Model A, however, has allowed the designers to effectively DOUBLE cargo capacity! Thrust, jump drive charge time, power storage, shield capacity and recharge rate have all seen significant improvement as well.
In addition, designers have also finally fixed the switches controlling the interior lights, exterior lights, and yellow hazard light on the hull. The hazard light will now rotate when toggled, and both interior and exterior lights can be toggled from the pilot's seat. Interior lights can still be toggled via the switch next to the entrance.
