They are here! After 2 months of work and during the Exam season (Grumble) Ive finished these ships off, with a crash speedbuild of a replacement Bomber as the CC Frigate's weapons were severely not up to scratch.
(30FoV FTW)
Lets start with the smallest vessel, the KDI "Havoc II" Fighter:
Nothing much to say about it. Carries a Cannon-Cannon-Punch and the pods contain Stop-cannons. Not very effective due to its relative size and weight at sub-200 mass.
Next up is the Bomber that I had to build and tune in 2 days. KDI "Chaosweaver" light Bomber
This ship is rather up-to-the-line on its power use, since its 4 rockets that fire every 20-odd seconds deal 300k damage to vessels, it is also armed with some Cannon-Beam-Explosive "Mini Mac" cannons to reach out at that range and provide constant damage at least. It has 4 decoy rockets that fire every second, too, overwhelming AMS systems. Unfortunately its really sluggish to move. It even has a small interior:
Next up is the KDI "Ridgeback" Corvette
Vessel carries Cannon-Cannon-Punch weapons as well as a few rockets and a decoy launcher. This ship carries tons of energy a second for its size (800k+) and uses a lot of it for various weapons and turrets. 2x Cannon-Cannon-Overdrive, 2x Missile-Beam-Overdrive, and 2x Beam-Beam-Overdrive turrets. Its still armoured and sluggish under thrust, but it carries a decent jump drive and comes equipped with inhibitors like the Bomber. As for simerlarities, Why make 2 different cockpits when you dont need to?...
Now the "Unarmed" Miner/Freighter hybrid, the KDI "Bowhead" Miner-Freighter
While it has some turrets, the vessel itself is unarmed - which, may cause an issue for the current game because it will try to ram enemies.
Like all KDI Vessels, its thrust is not that great making it a lumbering target providing you can withstand the damage spike put out by the rocket turrets - almost 1.5m shield damage is applied upon threatening one of these freighters. Did I also mention a few of the rockets are decoys too?
Its mining array is very powerful, being 70 deep per output it doesnt require "expensive" cannon-slave to potent mining potential. Bla bla Bla 300k+ cargo capacity bla.
And Finally weighing in at 27k mass, the KDI "Trapezoid" Frigate
Carrying a Cannon-Cannon-Explosive as a main weapon, the frigate has 4 modified versions of the same heavy rockets that the Freighter has. It can carry its own cargo supplies (Futureproofing) Its got a Jump Inhibitor, slow Jump Drive, an Inactive Chain-Drive system for those that want to use the ship, some CC elements in Cannon-Cannon-Pull to counter the sluggishness of all KDI vessels, and finally a pair of small Beam-Beam-Ion to assault larger ship shields. Its nose is several layers thick of Advanced armour too, making it a bit tougher for rocket-using ships to damage it when there is potentially up to 3 layers of spaced armour to penetrate.
It even uses Holography, and has a waste-disposal chute which you can totally fall down into Lava as an astronaut in gravity. Similarly to the freighter, it has a cooling array in its nose for high-end weapons and heat dissapation.
...I think thats it, Im just going to go sleep now.
TL;DR
KDI Vessels are Big, Heavy, Slow, but have lots of armour, and heavy firepower at any range.
