This small ship is for the most part a product of my attempts to define the basic style and technology for the 7.era of my Outcasts Dominion Faction.
(Might be an good opportunity to think of an less confusing alteration for that factions name)
The Lambana is a medium sized shuttlecraft. While the engineering department managed to design a compact yet rather spacious vessel it suffered in terms of speed and durability.

Most Dominion ships of this era rely purely on directed space distortion drives to move their mass around. The circular design the Dominion uses eraned them the short nickname 'ball drives'
These drives can acomplish tasks wich on older vessels required severel independend systems.
By operating at different energy levels each ship with such a drive can potentially move at sublight speed or warp speed.

First experimental prototypes had allready been setup during the previous era. However their enormous size and energy demands made them quite inpractical.
A scinetific collaboration between the Domnion and the Protector Union led to massive improvements.
In the 7.era, Dominion ships got transporter arrays as a standard feature.

Even though the Lambana is outfitted with transporters, they simply can't be relyed on in every situation.
To provite an alternative way of abandoning the ship, the airlocks got Eject buttons. It opens the airlock without any regart of decompression and has the gravity generators push crewmen out.

Ball drives operate trough an internal reactor wich also can stream it's energy into a vessel's power grid. This alone however is not strong enough to support long jumps.
Small ships like the Lambana need to draw from their reserves to execute severel small jumps.
Smaller Dominion ships also come with two addional wireless connectors to trigger landing and launching procedures on their motherships.
