When looking for a low profile turret, I was looking for something that had a full 360 arc. With this in mind I built the 3x3 AMS ball. Because of the design the turret will (almost) never have collision issues and can track any missile. You can force collision by manually moving the turret to face the core and then rotating upside down. Because of turret mechanics, the AI will not attempt this maneuver. When AI controlled there should be no collision.
NOTE: Turret is meant to be inlaid into the ship.
