Generator Pack

    Generator Pack Final

THIS IS NO LONGER BEING UPDATED DUE TO UPDATE v0.199.214

A bunch of generators in various sizes; 50k, 100k, 250k, 500k, 1000k, and 2000k. Download includes sments of each generator, plus the big thing holding them all together. Since I couldn't find anything decent on the dock or on Genxnova's blueprint library, I figured that I would do everyone a favor and put some here.

You don't have to give me credit for this if you decide to use it in one of your uploaded creations.

I'm not exactly a pro at building generators, but unless there is some significant advantage I am not aware of, you general design, using many beams instead of one, would cause major lag. Each beam has to be computed individually, and that is expensive, put a dozen of the big one on a big ship in a server, and it will cause significant lag. In fact it would be "illegal" on the servers I am normally on, because this would break the "maximum beam/missile per ship" limits on those servers.

On my generators, I just glue all the supply module "bars" into a whole with one big "square" of modules on top of the "bars", reducing the whole to a single beam, minimizing the lag.

The "significant advantage" of my design is that it is much more compact then what you are suggesting in your second paragraph; however, you could also cover either the front or back of my generator design with a sheet of supply modules to make it into a single beam. I might actually get around to doing that, actually.
You Sir, are an excellent human being. Is there any tutorial on how to make these?

Tutorial? Once you download and install the sments, you just hook one up to a ship and hit the button. If you for some reason would want a 5m or 10m size, here is how you would do it:

    1. Set up powergen lines in grid formation. Say we want 5mil; powergen should be slightly above 5mil.
    2. Add power capacitators- make sure you have around 5mil. These and the blocks in the following steps can just be inserted to fill the gaps in the power grid.
    3. Add in power supply beams- again, should do around the same amount, if not more, than the gen rate. To check this, just go into flight mode and see how fast the power is drained when holding down the power supply computer- if the level goes down less than 50% after one cycle, then you have too many beam modules.
    4. [Optional] Add in an equal number of cannon modules to the supply beam modules.
    5. Setting up the logic: link a button to a delay, link that delay to another delay, link that delay back to the button, and then link the button to power supply computer. Slave the cannon to the power supply computer, and then hit the button.

If this doesn't make enough sense, just disect the little 50k.
Much appreciated! Thanks for including all sizes! It takes a lot of build work out of any size ship.
